How Mercedes-Benz Vans is helping
To help support the players and their small businesses, Mercedes-Benz Vans in the UK is donating two eVito Tourer vans to keep their local businesses moving efficiently and sustainably. The vans will also be used by the club to travel to and from matches together - helping to maintain and strengthen the bonds between players.
Businessman and “The Diary of a CEO” podcast host, Steven Bartlett, visited Grenfell Athletic FC to personally deliver the electric vans and meet the players who have started their own businesses to give them tips and advice.
Steven Bartlett said: “I’m blown away by the positive impact Grenfell Athletic has had on the local community. Football has the power to bring people together and it’s clear that this has inspired many of the players to give back to the community through their individual initiatives and small business ideas.
“I met some very talented and inspiring people and look forward to continuing to work with them, including inviting one of the players to shadow me at work to learn more about digital marketing. These electric vans will open up opportunities on and off the pitch and enable people to grow their businesses, help more people and give back to the community.”
Sarah Palfreyman, Sales Director for Mercedes-Benz Vans in the UK, said: “We're delighted to be able to help keep the Grenfell community moving efficiently and sustainably.
“From family-friendly days out, to local sweetie businesses - these players are using their entrepreneurial skills to touch every part of the community and be the best versions of themselves.
“It’s fantastic to see such a wide variety of business initiatives, which is why Steven Bartlett was the ideal person to hand-deliver our vans. The definition of business savvy and with a genuine desire to mentor individuals, Steven could share his tips and advice to help people living in the community pursue their entrepreneurial ambitions - and hopefully reinforce that the sky’s the limit.”
