PRE-SAFE® system
The standard PRE-SAFE® system makes vital use of the milliseconds preceding an impending accident. A host of measures prepare you, your front and rear passengers for the accident, reducing collision-generated loads and risk of injury.
MULTIBEAM LED
MULTIBEAM LED headlamp technology continually calculates the optimal lighting requirement for the road ahead, in milliseconds.
Your forward view is illuminated precisely, brightly and broadly. Potential dangers can be detected more quickly without other vehicle users being dazzled. Furthermore, as MULTIBEAM LED light is similar to natural daylight, the strain on your eyes is reduced.
Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC
Traffic jams can be both safer and more relaxing, with Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC, the system that takes the hard work out of start-stop driving.
The distance between your vehicle and the one in front is automatically regulated, and when used in conjunction with Speed Limit Assist, your car won't exceed your chosen maximum speed.
Active Lane Keeping Assist
Once Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC is activated, Active Lane Keeping Assist helps the driver keep the vehicle in the centre of its lane.
The system identifies lane markings on the straight sections and gentle bends of motorways and trunk roads, up to 130 mph. When lane markings are unclear (Eg, sections of road undergoing roadworks), the system can still function up to 80 mph, by basing calculations on other vehicles and parallel structures such as guard rails.
