Maintains the desired speed for you.
You won't want to be without the convenience of Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC in either flowing or stop-and-go traffic. The system takes the strain off you by automatically adapting your own speed to that of slower-moving vehicles in front. The desired distance can be set in several stages.

Gets you back on track.
Active Lane Keeping Assist can warn you by means of steering wheel vibrations if you inadvertently drive over lane markings. If there is still no reaction, or in dangerous situations, the system can also intervene actively with course-correcting steering intervention to bring you back into lane.

PRE-SAFE® Plus
In conjunction with the latest generation of the Driving Assistance Package, PRE-SAFE® Plus uses radar sensors and stereo cameras to monitor the vehicle's surroundings. If necessary, it will trigger precautionary measures to protect the occupants.

Provides the driver with transparency over their attention level.
The ATTENTION ASSIST drowsiness detection system can detect typical signs of fatigue or growing inattentiveness on long, monotonous journeys, or recognise an impending episode of microsleep on the part of the driver and take action of its own accord to warn them. For this function the S-Class must be configured with the new 3D driver display.
