Introduction

The new Mercedes-Benz GLS

The new GLS builds on its previous generation with a promise to deliver more; more space, comfort, technology and luxury. It remains the S-Class of SUVs.

On the outside, the new GLS stands on a wheelbase 60mm longer than before. Its elegant lines, informed by our Sensual Purity design strategy, ensure that it looks harmonious and understated in profile. From the front, the GLS exudes presence and power, with imposing MULTIBEAM LED headlights, making this a car that truly stands out.

The increase in size is most evident on the inside, where passengers in the second row of seats get an extra 87mm in legroom. The full-sized seats in the third row comfortably accommodate people up to 1.94 m tall. All seats can be electronically stowed at the touch of a button, allowing you to easily make full use of the GLS’s 2,400 litres of boot space.

Luxury is a theme that is continued throughout the cabin of the new GLS, where ergonomic design and finest-quality leather surfaces cocoon passengers in complete comfort.

The new GLS is equipped with MBUX, our next-generation intelligent infotainment system. MBUX Interior Assistant lets the driver control certain functions using voice or gesture control. For example, switch the reading lamp on by extending a hand towards it, or say “Hey Mercedes” before telling your car where to navigate to. Over time, the new GLS gets to know you and your routines. So, for example, if you usually visit your parents after work on a Tuesday, then every Tuesday evening, MBUX will suggest that route to you.

Comfort for all passengers is a priority for the new GLS. The AMG Line Premium Plus Executive offers rear-seat passengers a limousine-like experience including wireless phone charging, additional USB ports and seats with lumbar massage function.

This equipment line also brings MBUX to the back seats, with a seven-inch tablet that allows passengers to take control of MBUX functions – though the driver can resume control at any point. The MBUX Rear Seat Entertainment System offers even greater entertainment and convenience, with two 11.6-inch touchscreens fixed to the front seats that let passengers browse the web, stream movies and music, watch digital TV or view trip information.

The new GLS comes with 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission that builds on efficiency, while AIRMATIC suspension adapts to road conditions in real time, delivering the smoothest ride.
