If you or someone you care for is living with a disability which means you need extra help with accessing, reading or understanding your finance agreement, there are several organisations that can offer guidance and support.
• AbilityNet, through its website, My Computer My Way has lots of advice on how to make your phone, computer, or tablet easier to use. It has step-by-step guides on how to adapt your device to meet your needs. You can call them for free on 0300 180 0028 for more information.
• Scope provides practical information and support for disabled people and their families.
• Citizens Advice offer free, confidential help on a wide range of issues including disability rights, benefits, and public services. They also support people who need extra help with English or have literacy and numeracy challenges. Their services include face-to-face guidance, help with filling out forms, access to interpreters and easy-to-understand resources.
• Mencap supports people with a learning disability and their families.
• If you want to gain confidence with accessing essential services and managing your finances online, Good Things Foundation offers free digital skills training and support to help you get comfortable using the internet safely and effectively.
