Suspension – stylish in every movement.
The CLS comes with Lowered comfort suspension, this offers you a dynamic overall package. The suspension has been lowered by 15 millimetres and works with specially tuned springs and dampers, a much sportier configuration than the standard suspension - bringing even better road holding.

The best automatic transmission is one you hardly notice, because it changes the gears with practically no jolts or jerks and provides the right engine speed in any driving situation. And because it responds immediately to the driver's wishes. Its name: 9G-TRONIC with nine optimally coordinated gears. Developed in-house by Mercedes-Benz.

9G-TRONIC 9-speed automatic transmission
Nine speeds for unrivalled comfort. 9G-TRONIC impresses with even swifter and smoother gear changes. At the same time, 9G-TRONIC helps to reduce fuel consumption. It is one of the first 9-speed automatic transmissions with hydrodynamic torque converter. The wider gear spread enables a reduction in the engine speed. As a result, the excellent driving performance remains unchanged while ride comfort is enhanced and noise levels are reduced.

Reassuringly safe in poor weather conditions, with impressively high traction when driving dynamically: 4MATIC all-wheel drive. This ensures that the CLS retains its famous style on any surface and at any time of year.

4MATIC all-wheel drive
Better contact between the engine and the road is scarcely possible: because all the wheels are driven directly, the car delivers excellent driving dynamics. For better starting and accelerating, especially on poor road surfaces.
Instead of differential locks, 4MATIC uses the electronically controlled traction system 4ETS.
