Discover EQ

EQ or Electric Intelligence by Mercedes-Benz is our electric mobility brand.

The image shows the Mercedes-Benz EQ Power fleet and the Concept EQ in an empty car park at night.

From appealing design, extraordinary driving pleasure, high levels of everyday suitability and maximum safety. EQ represents "emotion and intelligence", two Mercedes-Benz brand values.
It comprises all essential aspects related to customer-focused electric mobility and goes beyond the vehicle itself.

Which is why we are flicking the switch: thanks to the product and technology brand EQ, we are not just looking at vehicles, we are expanding our offering to include specific products, services and innovations which go far beyond just driving. The way in which we travel, how we use energy, how we intuitively interact with our vehicles – all of that will change.

100% Electric (Battery Electric Vehicle) – EQ

By 2022, the Mercedes-Benz and smart will offer 10 pure battery electric vehicles (Battery Electric Vehicle) across all segments. The first of which will arrive in 2019; the EQC. The new generation of electric vehicles is based on an architecture developed specifically for battery-electric models. Locally emission-free driving is possible at all times, with extensive range possible from a single charge.

    Benefits

    • No driving emissions.
    • Maximum torque as soon as the wheels turn.
    • Almost silent.
    • Wide range of charging options.
  • Hybrid Assist (Hybrid) - EQ Boost

    Plug-in Hybrid

Hybrid Assist (Hybrid) - EQ Boost

Some of our vehicles benefit from EQ Boost technology, which feature a 48 volt integrated starter generator/motor alongside a combustion engine, this offers a better acceleration performance, lower emissions and improved efficiency. The EQ Boost system acts as both a starter motor and a “hybrid assist” motor. Though you do not plug-in to recharge the battery, the system recuperates energy from slowing down or braking for example.

    Benefits:

    • Reduces fuel consumption.
    • Charges the battery with kinetic energy or through regenerative braking.
    • Short distances can be covered on electric power.
    • Extra boost e.g. for overtaking.
  • Plug-in Hybrid (PHEVs) - EQ Power & EQ Power+

    Plug-in Hybrid (PHEVs) - EQ Power & EQ Power+

    Plug-in Hybrid

    Plug-in Hybrid (PHEVs) - EQ Power & EQ Power+

Mercedes-Benz vehicles with EQ Power branding are plug-in hybrids (PHEVs), featuring either a petrol or diesel powertrain combined with a HV battery and electric motor. All-electric locally emission free driving is possible, as well as a hybrid mode, offering maximum efficiency. Our next generation of EQ Power models will offer state-of-the-art technology with even greater electric only range.

    Benefits:

    • All-electric operation possible.
    • Battery can be charged via power socket, regenerative braking or combustion engine.
    • Extremely low fuel consumption.

The Mercedes-AMG F1 W09 EQ Power+ proudly carries the “EQ Power+” designation. Mercedes-AMG, “EQ Power+” will stand for future performance hybrid models. EQ Power+ is also featured in the Mercedes-AMG Project ONE hyper car revealed in Frankfurt in 2017.

Did you know that some 100% electric cars have the ability to drive 300 miles on a single charge - and that’s a figure that’s ever-increasing. Much like your smartphone, most electric car drivers charge their vehicles on their drive, garage or a nearby on-street residential charge point.

What’s more is that electric cars could cost up to a third less than a diesel or petrol car to run, as well as being cheaper to maintain. But most importantly, they are far better for the environment as they don’t even have an exhaust meaning that air quality is improved significantly. So with global warming being an ever-growing concern, electric cars are not only beneficial for you, but also for the greater good.

Which is why we’ve partnered with Go Ultra Low. They are a joint Government and car industry campaign, there to give you unbiased advice on making the switch to an electric vehicle.
