From 8 to 13 June 2015, the gates will once again be opening on the world’s most renowned exhibition for rescue workers, firefighters and related professionals – INTERSCHUTZ 2015 and Mercedes-Benz will be there. This event showcases the latest equipment and innovative approaches to emergency rescue and disaster relief. INTERSCHUTZ puts the spotlight on the technologies of tomorrow.
Fire services demand the highest standards of physical fitness and trained expertise from their personnel – and their support vehicles have to match up. Mercedes-Benz will be taking the Unimog to INTERSHUTZ as this is the perfect rescue vehicle.
The Mercedes-Benz Unimog has proved its capabilities in a wide variety of difficult situations. The Unimog has the ability to carry fire fighters and rescue workers, plus their equipment and machines, closer to the heart of the fire or disaster than any other vehicle. Not only does the Unimog’s inherent pay load allow ample, secure storage, but it will carry cranes and tow trainers, for example, for safe and stress-free animal and vehicle rescue, as well as hose reels and pumps.
Rescue is not just about fires: the Unimog’s internal pressure system protects the electrics and power supply when wading, allowing the vehicle to work in deep water for longer. Unimogs can also be equipped as medical or communication centres, providing vital services just where they are required – even for mountain rescue organisations
The Unimog’s legendary off-road capabilities, along with central tyre inflation for extra traction allow the driver to leave the road and cross all types of terrain – no need for specialist off-road traction units which can be key to effectively getting to a rescue situation.
