The most important protection for passengers is a driver who can concentrate fully on his task. That's why Mercedes-Benz has done everything to make the driver's workplace in the Tourismo touring coach as clear and ergonomic as possible.
The size of the new Tourismo also becomes clear behind the steering wheel. It offers two ergonomically friendly cockpits with joystick shifting, high-quality finishes and lots of comfort. The functional versions of Basic Plus cockpit as well as the comfortably designed version Comfort Plus cockpit are available.
The basic structure including new multifunction steering wheel and the new
instrument panel is identical in both models. All controls are clearly arranged and can be comfortably reached without changing the seat position. The further optimised multifunction steering wheel as well as the high-resolution TFT colour display with intuitively operable stacks and cards menu ease the work in the cockpit behind the wheel. Furthermore, the Coach Multimedia System (CMS) is integrated in a double DIN version.
The anti-glare display conveys all the important data at a glance and can, as an option, provide the driver with enhanced data such as trip data or fuel consumption. This allows them to direct all their attention towards the road – a significant contribution to greater driving safety. The driver will also find stowage spaces and spacious storage accessories.
The refrigerator* in the Cockpit Basic Plus offers a volume of 54 litres; the cockpit can be combined with a cash and payment system. There is an optional safe in a step.
Both cockpit versions are characterised by an electronic Basic Key system. The system can be optionally upgraded to the Standard Key with remote control central locking.
