Stuttgart / Wierschem – One of the best-known and most beautiful castles in Germany, Eltz Castle, took on a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter City 35 for its own minibus route to the castle on 6 April 2017. Hendrik Zimmermann, Mercedes-Benz Omnibus sales representative, handed over the Mercedes-Benz minibus to lords of the castle Dr. Karl Graf zu Eltz and Jakob Graf zu Eltz.
Untouched by any war, Eltz Castle has been in the hands and care of a single family since its construction around 850 years ago. As of April, the shuttle service will bring tourists from around the world to the imposing structure, that once adorned the 500 German mark note, on a daily basis for seven months. For its use on this route steeped in history, the Sprinter City 35 has taken on the same colour as the framework of Eltz Castle. The Jupiter red and low-floor minibus is equipped with a folding ramp and a designated wheelchair bay and allows visitors with limited mobility to take the steep journey up to the castle.
