Stuttgart/Warsaw – The Warsaw transport operators order the next 80 Conectos and thereby continue to put their faith in the city buses by Mercedes-Benz. In 2012, more than 60 Mercedes-Benz Conectos were already ordered and delivered for public city-centre services in the Polish capital. On Friday, 23 June 2017, the contract between the Warsaw transport operators MZA (Miejskie Zakłady Autobusowe) and Daimler Buses was signed. The new vehicles will be transferred to the customer before the year is out. 45 of the 80 vehicles are articulated buses and offer space for up to 145 passengers.
This order is the third major contract for city buses that Daimler Buses has received in a short space of time. At the start of June, Mercedes-Benz do Brasil sold 200 vehicles to the Brazilian port city of Recife. And in mid-May, the Saudi bus operator SAPTCO (Saudi Public Transport Company) ordered 600 city buses. This is the largest single order of Mercedes-Benz Citaro buses in the history of Daimler Buses.
