Stuttgart / Tittenkofen. The 2016/17 season for Bayernbus GmbH got underway with 30 new Mercedes-Benz and Setra brand buses. The company, which is composed of three bus operators, ordered seven Mercedes-Benz Citaro LE type low floor buses, three Citaro K buses and 20 Setra Low Entry S 415 LE business vehicles from EvoBus GmbH. The accessible, air-conditioned vehicles will be deployed on behalf of the Munich transit authority (MVV) in the Bavarian districts of Erding and Freising.
The efficient and economical rural regular-service buses are equipped with a computerised control system (RBL), which facilitates a digital connection between the vehicles and the control centre, and also supplies constantly updated travel information to passengers' smartphones and laptops.
Bayernbus GmbH was founded in 1999 by Boos Bus GmbH & Co. KG, Hadersdorfer Reisen Moosburg GmbH & Co. KG and Scharf Omnibus & OHG Travel Agents. The aim of the three established Bavarian companies was to be able to compete against large corporations for European tenders.
"Our merger enables us to confidently compete with a strong bus fleet", says Martin Scharf, who directs Bayernbus GmbH together with his brother Andreas, Alfred Hadersdorfer and Ralph Boos. For all directors, the decisive factors for the purchase included not only the accessible specification and the comprehensive service offered by the Daimler Buses service brand Omniplus, but also their long years of positive experience working with the sales staff from both the Mercedes-Benz and Setra brands.
