Hanover – Mercedes-Benz Sales, Germany delivers 15 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vans to Meldau GmbH in Hanover. Meldau GmbH uses the vehicles on behalf of the Lebenshilfe Hannover counselling centre to transport children and adults with handicaps.
These new vehicles are Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 316 CDIs powered by a 120-kW (163-hp) four-cylinder diesel engine (fuel consumption combined: 7.2 l/100 km, CO2 emissions combined: 187 g/km). The nine-seater vans offer plenty of space for their passengers and are also used to transport wheelchair users. The vehicles are equipped with a six-speed manual transmission and thanks to their white basic colour and the many multi-coloured life aid and counselling symbols, not only have an attractive aspect, but are also easily recognisable. High standards are set by the vehicles with their safety equipment, a point that was very much taken into account when placing the order: For instance, the Crosswind Assist counteracts virtually entirely the influence of gusts of wind on the vehicle.
Jorge del Rio Alvarez, Sales Manager, Vans at the Mercedes-Benz Hanover branch: "We are happy our vehicles can help provide mobility for handicapped people in safety and comfort. We are bound to Meldau GmbH by a long-standing, reliable partnership.
