One of the largest travel companies offering luxury coach tours in Poland, RafTrans Sp. z o.o. in Warsaw, took delivery of the last eight vehicles out of a total order for 20 Mercedes-Benz Tourismos with Euro VI engines, on 28 February 2014. Tomasz Talarek, Brand Manager for Mercedes-Benz Bus and Coach unit Poland, presented the symbolic key to the new fleet to Rafał Jańczuk, owner of RafTrans Sp. z o.o.
The coaches will be powered by OM 470 Euro VI BlueEfficiency Power engines with an output of 290 kW. Transmission is courtesy of the power-assisted GO 210 6-speed transmission system from Mercedes-Benz. The Tourismo's safety systems include the ESP© (Electronic Stability Program), BA (electronic Brake Assist system), CBL (continuous brake limiter) and ASL (acceleration skid control), all fitted as standard. The tour operator also specified Litronic headlamps as an additional safety feature for its fleet.
The luxury tour company went for appointments befitting the high-class travel segment in its 20 Tourismos. Upon boarding, passengers will find Travel Star seats, which were specifically developed for touring coach use and have 2-point seat belts, luggage nets and hinged armrests on the aisle. The already comfortable Tourismo seating was further enhanced with Luxline upholstery. A galley, toilet, audio-video system, high-performance air conditioning system and tinted glass throughout round off the vehicles' luxury appointments. A special highlight for the passengers is the provision of a fast internet connection, which allows them to use the on-board wifi network at no extra cost.
